Fitzgerald, Robert "Bob" Freeland, Michigan Passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at St. Mary's of Michigan at the age of 81 years. The son of the late William and Margaret (Harper) Fitzgerald was born on January 25, 1934 in Saginaw. He graduated from Saginaw High School and then Central Michigan University with both his bachelors and masters degrees. Bob served in the U.S. Army. He married Sandy Brown in Saginaw in 1959; she survives him. Bob retired from the Saginaw Public Schools. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and was an avid CMU football fan. Surviving besides his wife of 56 years, Sandy, are their children: Mary Fitzgerald, of Houston, TX; Kathleen (Mark) Stavely of Hemlock, MI; Timothy (Jane) Fitzgerald of Mt. Pleasant, MI; four grandchildren: Stephen (Jil) McKinney of Chicago, IL; Sean Fitzgerald, Shannon Fitzgerald both of Mt. Pleasant, MI; Joshua Fitzgerald of Houston, TX; two great-grandchildren: Evelyn, Olive, his sister-in-law Eileen Fitzgerald and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his brother William Fitzgerald and his sister Sandra Clark. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 335 Johnson, Freeland. Fr. Robert DeLand will officiate with private burial to take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. from 2:00-5:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
