Robert Roy Nettleton, age 96, of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2026, with his loving family by his side.

Robert was born in Hope, Michigan, on November 24, 1929, to the late Delbert and Ella (Keyes) Nettleton. He honorably served his country in the United States Navy from 1948 – 1952, serving on the U.S. Coral Sea CVB-43. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He worked for C&O and CSX Railroad and retired after of 40 years of service.

Robert was united in marriage with Etta (Miner) Nettleton. They enjoyed 58 years of marriage and enjoyed traveling to destinations such as South Dakota and Las Vegas. Etta preceded him in death in 2009. Robert was also preceded in death by four children: Steven Nettleton, Del Nettleton, Denise Nettleton, and Terri Nettleton.

Robert is survived three children: Wayne Nettleton, Jean Nettleton, and William Nettleton. He also leaves thirteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren to cherish his memory.

In honor of Robert’s wishes, cremation has taken place there will be a private burial.
