Robert “Bob” Pierce Naylor of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Saturday, October 25, 2025. Robert Pierce Naylor was born on September 28, 1941, in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Willis “Ray” and Marjorie Ella (Bell) Naylor. He was a proud 1960 graduate of Saginaw High School. While in high school, he worked as a stocker at Ray’s Food Fair. While on a walk in her sister’s neighborhood, he met the love of his life, Sally Jane Thompson. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on October 28, 1961. Bob was employed as a truck driver and clerk in the stock room at Malleable Iron / Power Train, retiring in 1999 after 37 years of loyal and dedicated service. The quintessential family man, the role of his lifetime was to be a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Spending time with family was his little piece of heaven, making his heart feel full. An avid outdoorsman, Bob enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially hunting, deer, grouse, duck and rabbit being his favorite. He was a longtime member of Ducks Unlimited and Trout Unlimited. Bob also enjoyed going upstate to the family residence on Wixom Lake in Albright Shores. His pride and joy was his 1999, black Chevrolet pickup truck, which he meticulously took care of every day. He will forever be remembered for living a simple life he loved, for his wonderful sense of humor, for loving his entire family forming lifelong connections with each grandchild, and for truly living an amazing life filled with many beautiful memories and stories.
Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Sally Jane Naylor of Saginaw; three children: Sherry Naylor of Saginaw; Robert (Rhonda) Naylor of Hope; Steven (Melanie) Naylor of East Tawas; 11 grandchildren: Melissa Shabazz, Breanna Martinez, Tia Owens, Tabitha Carson, Scott (Jason) Naylor, Crystal (Kevin) Witek, Michael Dietrich, Willis Naylor, Bobbie Harkrader, Steven (Christiana) Naylor, and Elliott Naylor; 18 great-grandchildren; a brother, George Naylor of Lansing. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis “Ray” and Marjorie Naylor; two brothers and two sisters, Ray (Jean) Naylor, Ernie (Dolly) Naylor, Helen (John) Klein, and Susie (Larry) Zuellig.
