It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Scott Mitchell on October 2, 2026. Born to Earl and Katherine Mitchell (Gonso) on Ocotber 1, 1961 in Saginaw, MI, Robert devoted his life to loving his family, enjoying the simple pleasures of life and making as many friends as he could along the way.

He graduated from Eisenhower High School and has dabbled in many trades since, with the last being at Nexteer which he retired from due to medical issues. There was nothing he couldn’t do if he set his mind to it. In 2004, he met his best friend, Amy Nentwig, and in 2006, the two were united in marriage.

Robert was truly one of a kind. Anyone that met him certainly never forgot him. He liked simple pleasures on his off time, like fishing, being outdoors messing with his property, which he adoringly referred to as “Mitchell Acres,” and getting as much time with his family and friends as he could.

He also found joy in remote control cars of all kinds – running them, competing in races with them, and just hanging out in his yard with special friends he made who shared the same passion.

Above all, Robert loved his children the most, and never missed an opportunity to tell them how proud of them he was of accomplishment, big or small.

Aside from his devoted wife, Amy, he is survived by his children, Jeremy (Chantel) Mitchell, and Sasha (TJ) Marker; brother, John Snay; grandchildren, Aria Rose, Emerson, and Tallulah, who will miss “Papa” so much; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and amazing friends. Robert also leaves behind his two beloved fur babies, Mickey and Marley, who will miss him dearly, especially Mickey, who was his “napping buddy”.

He was preceded in passing by his parents, Earl and Katherine Mitchell – the most wonderful people that adopted him around the age of 2. He was also lucky enough to find his biological family and get to know them as well.

A funeral service is set to take place on Thursday, October 8, 2026 at W.L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd, Saginaw, MI 48603, at 6:00 pm. Friends may visit with the family beginning at 2:00 pm until the time of the service at 6:00 pm.
