York, Robert J. Thomas Township Bob went to rest in his Lords embrace Thursday, June 25th. Bob was born in Saginaw to the late Casper and Wilhelmina (Maertz) York on Jan. 3, 1928. On Sept. 11, 1954, he married Sally J. O'Brien. Bob retired from Saginaw Steering Gear in 1991 following over 40 years of service. He is a long time member of Ascension Lutheran Church. He also served in the US Navy. Surviving besides his wife, Sally, are their children Sue White, David York, Kathy York, Michael York (Hortencia), Todd York (Tracey) and Kristen (Ernie) Kindle; grandchildren Nicole (Dustin), Jennifer (Loren), Brian (Emily); Amelia, Isabel, Jayme, Matthew, Courtney, Alicia, Colton, Sami, Brianna, Andrew D., Shelby, Emily, RD, Sophia, Andrew M., Robert, and Garrett; great-grandchildren Alex, Faith, Thomas, Liam, Ethan, Calvin, Vincent, Gabriella, Annabelle, and Lucas; his brother Walter (Lois) York and many nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his son, Mark; sisters Ann Jones, Helen Wendzik, Esther Billmier and brothers Ernest and Edward York. The family would like to thank Dr. Rama Mulpuri, her staff, and Heartland Hospice, with special regards to Gabrielle and Devica. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 29th at the W.L. Case and Company 201 N. Miller Rd. Pastor Julie Bailey will be officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 8:00 and on Monday from 10:00 until the time of service.
