Robert E. Witkop

Beloved husband, brother, and uncle went home to the Lord on Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at the age of 74 years. Robert was born May 24, 1941, in Birch Run to the late LeRoy and Ann (DeVoe) Witkop. He married Emma Harder in July of 1961; she survives him. He enjoyed family get-togethers, camping, hiking, fishing, canoeing, eating cucumbers, and classic country music. Besides his wife Emma he is survived by his siblings, JoAn (Duane) Cooper and William (Wynona) Witkop; special cousin, Dave (Linda) Matzke; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was predeceased by his mother-in-law, Arlene Harder. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 7, 2016, at W.L. Case & Company 5700 Dixie Highway. Pastor Steve Windle will officiate with burial to follow in Birch Run Township Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Sunday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. and again on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
