Swanson, Robert A. Saginaw, Michigan Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 14, 2015, age 80 years. Robert was born on October 13, 1935, in Saginaw, son of the late Charles and Marie (Gaertner) Swanson. He married Nancy Nass on June 29, 1957, she survives him. He was formerly a member of the U.S. Naval Reserves and had retired in 1990 from Saginaw Steering Gear Skilled Trades after many years of service. Robert loved the outdoors in which he enjoyed bird watching, golfing, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, camping and gardening. He also enjoyed attending his son-in-law's truck races. He enjoyed helping his family and neighbors throughout life with farming. Surviving besides his loving wife Nancy are his children, Cheryl (Dan) Baudoux, Saginaw, Gary Swanson (Wendy Richter), Holiday, FL, Rich Swanson, Holiday, FL, and Ron Swanson, Saginaw; his grandchildren, Amber Swanson, Southfield, MI and Nicole Swanson, Bay City; his sisters, Dorothy (Tom) Mayan, Merrill, Ruth Ann (Mike) Murphy, Hemlock; many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews; also many other special relatives and friends. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 19, 2015 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Road. Fr. Peter J. Gaspeny will officiate with burial at St. Andrew Cemetery.
