Rita Regina Humpert of Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Monday, August 4, 2025. She was 92 years old. Rita Regina Humpert was born on February 3, 1933, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Henry Wolfgang and Marie Ann (Massicotte) Humpert. She was baptized, confirmed and received holy communion within the Catholic Church and attended grade school at Sacred Heart School in Saginaw, Michigan. Rita was devoted and longtime member of St. Francis de Sales Parish, St. Christopher Catholic Church. She was an excellent baker and enjoyed gifting her famous chocolate chip cookies, angel food cake, and banana bread to her family. Rita also enjoyed going to play BINGO at the Community on Aging in Frankenmuth, as well as on her iPad, along with solitaire. A mastermind at teasing those she loved, Rita will forever be remembered for her love of family, for her innate ability to hold conversations via the telephone, and for her devotion to her faith.

Surviving are a brother, Thomas (Helen) Humpert of Bay City; a sister, Catherine (Nick) Welsh of Birch Run; and 30 very special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Marie Humpert; threes sisters and three brothers: Marie Ann Cox, Geroge J. Humpert, Albert B. Humpert, Veronica Yaklin, Joseph H. Humpert, and Francis I Eickholt; two nieces and three nephews: Brenda Eichholt, Thomas Welsh, Gail Armstrong, Terry Yaklin, and Dale Yaklin.

A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 12, 2024, at St. Francis de Sales Parish, St. Christopher Catholic Church, 3945 Williamson Rd., Saginaw, MI 48601. Rev. Fr. Alberto Vargas will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 5700 Dixie Highway, Saginaw, MI 48601 on Monday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A vigil service will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Rita will lie in state at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
