Richard Allan Steele

Richard Allan (Rita Mae) Steele, who was not just another pretty face, of Hale, MI, formerly of West Branch, MI and Catlin, IL,

Beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend passed away unexpectedly with his family by his side with their bare faces hanging out on April 19th, 2023, at Mid-Michigan Hospital in Midland, MI. He was 71 years old. He was born on June 20th, 1951, in Saginaw MI to the late Kenneth P. Steele and Marie G. Shindorf. He was a proud 1969 graduate of Arthur Hill High School in Saginaw, MI. He married Patricia Ann Volz on August 8th, 1970, in Saginaw, MI. Rick was employed as a line worker with General Motors in 1969, ultimately retiring from them as a Safety Supervisor in October 2008. Recently, he worked part time at Ann's Hair Affair in West Branch, MI, with a wonderful bunch of ladies and Baja Acres Motocross Track in Millington, MI, with his son-in-law, Brad, and close friend, Mike Underwood. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, being outdoors, drinking coffee with his close friend, Ron Kraatz, karaoke, pontoon boat rides, making people laugh, and giving advice.

Surviving are his wife, Patricia; eldest son, Shawn and his wife, Sara Steele, of West Lebanon, IN; daughter, Stacy Malone and her husband, Brad, of Wales, MI; youngest son, Shane and his wife, Amber Steele, of Georgetown, IL; nine grandchildren: Larisa (Keith Hollingsworth) Malone, Josh (Jaclyn Derhammer) Steele, DJ (Brittany) Steele, AC Malone, Harley (Gillian Eisenbraun) Steele, Raven (Matt Harris) Steele, Cierra (Ian Smith) Malone, Tanner and Camden Steele; nine great grandchildren; three brothers and three sisters; close friends: Mary Kraatz, Linda Ripenbark, Lynn Kienzle; and many other numerous relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Robert Steele, Terry Macomber, and Granddaughter Michelle Malone.

A celebration of life is in preparation and will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary post in his name.
