Our loving father and grandfather passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at the age of 81 years. 

Richard was born on August 24, 1943, son of the late Bill Rappley, Sr. and Kathleen and Ralph Moore, in Saginaw. He retired as an electrician from General Motors, Saginaw Steering Gear after many years of dedicated service. He enjoyed the simple things in life. Whether he was going for a short ride on his motorcycle or listening to the old country greats, he was content. Richard loved fishing, which was great bonding time with his sons as they grew up. He will be remembered for being very caring and supportive of his family.

Surviving are his sons, Richard Rappley, Jr. and Scott (Mandy) Rappley; grandsons, Richard Rappley, III and Logan Rappley; great grandson, Aiden Rappley; sister-in-law, Elaine Rappley; nieces and nephews, Billy, Julie, Chris and Amanda; and his friend, Larry Dennie. He was predeceased by his brother, William Rappley, Jr. 

Richard’s family would like to extend their appreciation to the nursing staff at Great Lakes Rehab Center.

Funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at W. L. Case and Company, 201 N. Miller Road. Friends may visit with the family at the chapel from 11:00a.m. until the time of service.
