Our loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away on Friday, March 25, 2022. Age 87 years.

Dick was born on May 2, 1934, son of the late Lyle and Myril (Johnson) Dell, in Muskegon.
He graduated from Muskegon High School and served in the United States Navy as Senior Chief Petty Officer for 26 years. He married Gloria Ackerman on May 30, 1992. She survives him. Dick retired from Consumers Energy after 33 years of service. He was a member of the Lions Club and V.F.W. Dick enjoyed casino trips with Gloria. He loved being outdoors golfing, fishing, hunting, playing baseball and feeding wild animals. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Dick is survived by his loving wife, Gloria; children, Cheri (Phil) Valkachak, Ed (Patty) Dell, Kim Hurley, all of Jackson, Debbie (Jeff) Kolk of Okemos, Rich (Dawn) Dell of Michigan Center, Julie (Rich) Colpean, Kelly (Matt) Darland and Tony Ackerman; 26 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren, brother, Reggie Dell of Union Lake and his cat, Little Guy. He was predeceased by his grandson, Carter Kolk, son-in-law, Brian Hurley, brother, Lawrence Dell and former spouse, Diane Adams.

A memorial service will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at W. L. Case and Company, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. Military committal will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 2, 2022, at Fort Custer National Cemetery, 15501 Dickman Road, Augusta MI, 49012, under the auspices of the United States Navy.
