Obituary

Beloved brother, uncle, cousin, and friend passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, with his family at his side. Age 82 years.

The son of the late Fermin and Catalina (Gutierrez) Cornejo, Regino was born on September 7, 1943, in San Rafael de Uruetaro, Salamanca, Mexico. He graduated from Merrill High School with the class of 1962. Regino continued his education at Central Michigan University. He proudly served in the United States Army until he was Honorably Discharged. Regino married the love of his life, Margaret Ann Chichester, on January 12, 1980. They shared 41 wonderful years together. She preceded him in death on December 13, 2021. Regino worked at General Motors for many years of loyal and dedicated service. He was an avid reader who enjoyed trips to Barnes & Noble. Regino took great pride in tending his garden and caring for his chickens, pursuits that brought him peace and happiness.

Surviving are his sisters and brothers, Connie Thomas, Ann Cornejo, Jane Bailey, Jean Behm, Alice Cornejo, Clara Nerio, Pete Cornejo, Ellen Meyer, and Joe Cornejo. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Besides his wife and his parents, Regino was preceded in death by his brothers, Rueben Cornejo and Ross Cornejo.

Honoring Regino’s wishes there will be no services scheduled. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd, Saginaw, MI 48603.
