Raymond Torres Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, at the age of 77.
Raymond was born on September 21, 1948, in Saginaw, Michigan, the son of Francisco and Virginia (Mendez) Torres.
Raymond dedicated over 25 years of his life to his career at General Motors Grey Iron Foundry, where he not only showcased his strong work ethic but also built lasting relationships with colleagues.
An avid bowler, Raymond enjoyed spending time at Stardust Lanes. He cherished the camaraderie of his friends at the Scottish Inn. He was known for his love of cooking, often preparing special meals that brought joy to his family. Raymond took pride in dressing well and loved sharing stories that entertained and captivated those around him. His home was always filled with the sounds of music, creating an atmosphere of warmth that reflected his generous spirit.
Raymond is survived by his loving wife, Oralia (Vasquez) Torres. Raymond and Oralia were united in marriage on November 24, 1967. He leaves to cherish his memory their children: Raymond (Nina) Torres Jr., Margaret (Snoop Greer) Gloria, Elias (Lisa) Torres, and Belia (Andre Kaczmarek) Torres. He was a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren, Santiago Torres, Raeanna Torres, Rolando Gloria, Emilio Torres, Sara Gloria, Mariana Torres, Matheo Torres, Lillianna Kaczmarek, and Andrianna Kaczmarek, and a loving great-grandfather to five great-grandchildren. Additionally, he is remembered by two brothers and four sisters: Frank (Stella) Torres, Mary Gilbert, Alamar (Raul) Rangel, Josie (Michael) Dixon, and Balentin (Bonnie) Torres, Betty Pika, along with several nieces and nephews.
Raymond also leaves behind his best friends, Jim and Socorro Bruske, who were an integral part of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents Francisco and Virginia Torres; his sister Alice Gravrette and his brother Richard Torres; and his cherished grandson, Adam Torres.
Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 20, 2026, at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd, Saginaw, MI 48603, where a prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 2445 N Charles St, Saginaw, MI 48602, where friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service. Rev. Fr. William Rutkowski will officiate the service with interment to follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
