Randall “Randy” Robert Wheatley

Beaverton, Michigan

Beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at MyMichigan Medical Center Midland, with his family at his side. Age 76 years.

The son of the late Robert and Dorothy (Charrey) Wheatley, Randy was born on May 24, 1949, in Saginaw, Michigan. He graduated from Arthur Hill High School. Randy then continued his education at Central Michigan University. He married his “Guardian Angel”, Debra Bottke, on June 24, 1994. She survives him. Randy was a computer programmer until he retired from EDS after many years of loyal and dedicated service. He also had another career in the musical world, Randy was known for playing bass guitar. He cherished time spent at Wixom Lake and traveling to Panama City Beach.

Surviving besides his wife, Debra Wheatley; children, Rick Wheatley of Saginaw, Michelle Wheatley Kraut of Davison, Sarah Wheatley Flessner of Grand Rapids, K.C. (Theresa) Griffin of Saginaw, Kelly (fiancé Jeff Leppert) Griffin of Saginaw; seven grandchildren; brothers, Douglas (LuAnn) Wheatley of Beaverton, Robert “Precious” (Deene) Wheatley of Colorado Springs; a very dear cousin, Tom Novak. Also surviving are a niece, nephew, many extended family members, and friends.

Honoring Randy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private memorial service will take place at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd, Saginaw, MI 48603. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to a charity of the donor’s choice.
