Rafael G. Torres Saginaw, Michigan Our beloved father and grandfather, passed away on Friday, May 19, 2017, age 86 years. He was born on March 3, 1931, son of the late Apitacio and Maria (DeJesus) Torres, in Donna, TX. Rafael married Sandra Contreras, she predeceased him on April 13, 2016. He was a member of Mission St. John Church and shared his love for the Lord. He enjoyed watching baseball, carpentry work and cooking dinner for his family for their weekend gatherings. He is survived by his children, Norma (James) Booth, San Antonio, TX, Sylvia (Adolph) Herrera, Arlington, TX, Olga Salas, Tina (Juan) Rodriguez, Esther (Ronnie) Valdez, Richard Torres, Victor Torres, Arlington, TX, David (Diana) Torres, San Antonio, TX, Rafael Torres Jr., Rafael C. (Andrea) Torres, Rene (Elizabeth) Torres and Antonio (Rachel) Aguilar; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters; also many other special relatives and friends. He was predeceased by two sons, Samuel Lopez and Johnny Torres and one daughter-in-law, Blanca Torres. Funeral service will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at W. L. Case and Company, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Pastor Jose Escobedo will officiate with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Monday at the funeral home from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
