Beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 13, 2018 at the age of 20 years. Nikolas was born in Saginaw, on July 31, 1998. He graduated with honors from Valley Lutheran High School, the class of 2016. He was attending Lawrence Tech for Architecture. Nikolas was involved with varsity soccer, Impact, symphonic, pep and jazz bands, student council, executive council, National Honor Society, honor roll both at Lawrence Tech and Valley Lutheran, photography, and anything outdoors including hiking, skiing, and camping. Nikolas loved music, playing the drums, guitar and Ukulele. A member of Peace Lutheran Church, Nikolas actively participated in the youth ministry, Gods Squad and youth band. He was also a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon at Lawrence Tech. Above all, Nikolas enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Surviving are his parents: Greg (Heather) Pieknik, Stacy Smith, his siblings: Amanda Pieknik, Madison, Skylar, and Carter Hutchison, grandparents: Adam and Diane Pieknik, Kent and Janet Smith, Ken and Chris Gremel, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. He was predeceased by his Uncles Kent and Brent Smith. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Peace Lutheran Church, 3427 Adams Ave. Rev. Matthew Hauser will officiate. Friends may visit with the family at the W. L. Case and Company 4480 Mackinaw Rd. on Monday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. with a 5:30 p.m. Rose Ceremony led by Sigma Phi Epsilon followed by a time of sharing and prayers at 6:00 p.m. led by Keith Minda. Friends may also visit with the family at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. Nikolas enjoyed helping others, in his memory memorial contributions may be made to: To Write Love on Her Arms or Valley Lutheran High School Music Program.
