Nicholas Grae Shanahan

Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved son, grandson, brother, uncle, and nephew passed away quietly in his sleep on Monday, January 29, 2024, at his home, with his family at his side. At the age of 27 years.

The son of Thomas Shanahan and Shann Birnbaum, Nick was born on April 2, 1996, in Saginaw, Michigan. Nick loved wearing his favorite baseball cap with his sun glasses. Easily entertained, Nick loved the jingle of his keychains and keys. As a beloved uncle, Nick would watch his nephews run and play. He will fondly be remembered for his funny sense of humor, and unique laugh. Above all, Nick cherished the time spent with his family, laughing and playing.

Surviving besides his mother, Shann Birnbaum, and his father, Thomas Shanahan; are his grandmother: Sharon Petty; brothers: Aaron (Rachael) Shanahan, Nathaniel Shanahan; nephews: Duncan and Kellan Shanahan. Also surviving are his aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends. Nick was preceded in death by his brother, Zachary Shanahan; and grandparents, Gerald Petty I, Clyde and Margaret Shanahan.

Honoring Nick’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Private Celebration of Nick’s Life will take place at a later date. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Arbor Day Foundation. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd, Saginaw, MI 48603. Please share your condolences and memories with the family online at https://www.casefuneralhome.com
