Nancy McCullen (Rice)

Beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away May 27, 2022 at age 89.

Nancy was born in Columbus, Ohio on November 20, 1932 to Charles and Carolyn (Becker) Rice. She earned her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Ohio State University and taught at Zilwaukee Elementary School for more than 20 years. She was especially proud of earning her master’s degree in Early Childhood Development from Saginaw Valley State University. Nancy was a longtime member of Ames United Methodist Church, and she loved to travel and go antiquing.

Nancy is survived by daughter Susan Kay (Mark) Paxton, son William David Shuster, step-daughter Patrice (Ron) Beaton, and step-son Mark (Roxanne) McCullen; grandchildren Brittany, Amanda, Gregory, Katherine, and Jennifer; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by son Steven Phillip Shuster, husband Bernard McCullen, and three siblings.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on June 11, 2022 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice.
