Modesto "Morris" Gomez Saginaw, Michigan Our beloved father, grandfather, and brother passed away on September 20, 2017, at the age of 78 years. Modesto was born January 12, 1939, in Del Rio, Texas to the late Carmen and Josepha (Gonzalez) Gomez. He retired from the Saginaw News where he worked for over 30 years as a truck driver. He enjoyed canoeing, camping, traveling, and playing the guitar and drums. He will be missed by his children, Richard (Jamie) Gomez, David Gomez, Antonio (Norma Mendez) Gomez, Herman Gomez; mother of his children, Ophelia Gomez; 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; siblings, Apolinar (Emma), Adalverto (Molly), Herman (Soyla), Jose, Oscar (Janie), Alfredo (Rose), Carmen Jr. Gomez, and Gloria (Joe) Frappart; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sibings, Eva Rivera, Heriberto and Antonio Gomez. Memorial services will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 6, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
