Wenzel, Mildred E. (Church/Clark) Merrill, MI Went home to the Lord on June 9, 2013, at Mid-Michigan Medical Center at the age of 88. Mildred was born April 19, 1925, in Midland to the late Herbert J. and Hazel B. (Hoggard) Clark. She married Ervin J. Church on June 15, 1940. He predeceased her May 1, 1969. She married Ken Wenzel on September 5, 1970; he survives her. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, doing crossword puzzles, learning about history, traveling with her husband in their motor home, and any outdoor activity with her family. She will be missed by her husband Ken; children, Theodore "Ted" (Margie) Church, Susan Kitzmiller, Steven (Penny) Church, Herbert (Yvonne) Church, Hazel (Rick) Hall, and Barbara (Doug) Tester; step-children, Gary (Pam) Wenzel, Kenna (Jim) Fordos, and Delynn Wenzel; 22 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandsons; son-in-law, Lon Varner; and siblings, Oliver Clark, Marjorie Duford, and Dorothy (Shook) King. She was predeceased by her daughter, Sharon Varner; son-in-law, Ron Kitzmiller; grandson, Steve Church Jr.; great-grandchildren, Brandon Church, Hunter and Colton Allen; and sister, Ida Mae Clark. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at W.L. Case & Company 125 E. Saginaw St. Merrill, MI. Pastor Don Duford will officiate. Private burial will take place in Homer Township Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
