Michael John Klemm

Michael “Mike” John Klemm of Linwood, Michigan

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed away peacefully at Wescourt Independent Living, with his family by his side, on Friday, November 11, 2022. He was 77 years old. Michael John Klemm was born on May 12, 1945, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Leonard and Betty J. (Rowe) Klemm. He was a 1963 graduate of Arthur Hill High School. Following graduation, Mike proudly served his country in the United States Navy receiving many awards and commendations until his honorable discharge. Upon his return, he began working for General Motors as a shop sweeper in the maintenance department, retiring in 1995 after 30 years of service. Mike was baptized and raised within the Lutheran Faith. He met the former Joann Badour while working at General Motors. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage in 1998; she survives him. Mike had a passion for building and tinkering on electric bicycles; hence receiving the nickname, “Mike on a bike”.  His little piece of heaven was spending time on his boat fishing in Au Gres and wintering in Florida. Though Mike could be stubborn, he was a fantastic storyteller, whether it was fishing with his daughter or hunting with his son, he loved sharing the same stories over and over. He could talk to anyone for hours, especially if you liked what he liked. Mike often could be found talking to the guys at the Linwood Party Store. He will forever be remembered for the way the luminating light of lighthouses brought a smile to his face, for his fierce love and loyalty with family and friends, and for truly living an amazing life filled with many beautiful memories and stories about cooking in the navy.

Surviving are his wife of 24 years, Joann Klemm of Linwood; son, John (Samantha) Klemm of Saginaw; daughter, Kimberly (David) Provencher of Saginaw; eight grandchildren: Jacob Preston, Taylar Klemm, Jessica Preston, Justin Preston, Courtney Klemm, Shelby Klemm; Alissa Wilder, and Aaliyah Bradley; and one sister, Susan (Terry) Dobson of Saginaw. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Betty Klemm.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of All Valley Home Health and Hospice for all the love and care they provided to Mike and the family.
