Beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the age of 67 years.
The son of the late Spencer Sr. and Shirley (Hayes) Green was born on June 29, 1958, in Saginaw. McCoy graduated from Buena Vista High School the class of 1977. He then joined the U.S. Army in June of 1977, serving abroad in Germany for three years until his discharge in 1980. McCoy married Laura Miner on October 20, 2000; she survives him. A skilled maintenance man, he worked for Saginaw County and Community Village for several years until his retirement. McCoy and Laura were members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Saginaw. He was an avid fisherman- no matter the season, he had his fishing pole ready to go with his best fishing buddy, Spence. McCoy was also a sports enthusiast, watching multiple sports at the same time. McCoy also cherished his friends and family especially time spent camping and traveling. Memorable trips included a cross-country adventures to Colorado and Washington D.C.
Surviving besides his wife, Laura, are his daughters: Kaylee Green, Tameshia Jackson, son McCoy (Arnesha) Green Jr., his granddaughter: Sydney Lehner, his siblings: Fanny Marie (Columbo) Clayton, Robert (Tammy) Green, Darliane (Spencer) Blackmon, Donna (Demaret) Bailey, Kenneth Lenoir, his siblings-in-law: Ronald (Kristie) Miner, William (Megan) Miner, Shawn Green, his parents-in-law Susan Dobson and Kenneth (Jane) Miner and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends including his faithful dog, Tucker “Green”. McCoy was predeceased by siblings: James Hester, Spencer Green Jr., Dianne Green, Patricia (Emmit) Jones and his step father-in-law Terry Dobson.
Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2026, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, at Court and Bond streets. Rev. David Naumann will officiate with cremation to follow. Friends may visit with the family at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. on Thursday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and on Friday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
