Maureen "Mo" Evelyn Cronkright

Maureen "Mo" E. Cronkright of Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully on Friday, May 24, 2024, at Babion's AFC Home of Merrill. She was 84 years old. Maureen E. Moriarty was born on June 9, 1939, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Michael G. and Mary M. (Wasmiller) Moriarty. She attended St. Andrew Catholic School. While at Gable Gardens Restaurant on East Street, she met the love of her life, Carl R. Cronkright, who just came back from serving in the military. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on September 10, 1960; he preceded her in death on September 5, 1982. She attended beauty school, became a licensed cosmetologist, and worked as a beautician for many years. The role of her lifetime, one she treasured and cherished above all others, was to be a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. An artist by hand, she found a passion in drawing, painting, as well as any type of arts and crafts. Mo was also a gifted and talented seamstress, sewing many of her children's clothing over the years. She also enjoyed playing cards with her friends and family, especially Euchre. Throughout her life, Mo held a deep affinity toward angels. She will forever be remembered for her beautiful smile and wonderful sense of humor, for the love and generosity she had for family and friends, for being the absolute best mother and grandmother, and for truly living an amazing life filled with many beautiful stories and memories.

Surviving are eight children: Charlene Sary of Saginaw; Brenda Cronkright of Saginaw; Glenn (Julie) Cronkright of Saginaw; Eric Cronkright of Saginaw; Kimberly (Gerald) Moore of Hemlock; Russell (Cheryl) Cronkright of Saginaw; Patricia Cronkright of Lake Bluff, IL; Chrisandra (Scott) Webster of Saginaw; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; two sisters: Carol King of Saginaw; Sharon Melanson of Saginaw; a Godson, Mike Melanson of Saginaw. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl R. Cronkright; a daughter, Kathleen Cronkright; parents, Michael and Mary Moriarty; son-in-law, Robert Sary; a sister, Geri (John) Duso; and a brother-in-law, Wally King.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Babion's AFC Home for all the love and care they provided to Maureen.
