Matthew Peter "Tiny" Root of Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved father, son, brother, uncle, and friend passed away suddenly on Monday, December 12, 2022, at his home. He was 52 years old. Matt was born in Midland, Michigan, on December 30, 1969, to Leon Duane and Betty Lou (Neuenfeldt) Root. He leaves behind a treasured son, Nicholas Root of Breckenridge; cherished mother, Betty Root of Midland; and three treasured brothers: Steven (Richard) Root-Cromwell of Grand Blanc; David (Joanne) Root of Midland; and Robert Root of Midland.

Matt was a proud 1988 graduate of Hemlock High School. Following graduation, he attended Delta College. Matt enjoyed watching sports, especially the Detroit Lions and Michigan football. He loved cooking good food for anyone and everyone. Matt never met a stranger, could talk to everyone, and always tried helping family and friends out any way he could. He enjoyed music of all kinds and sharing with friends on Facebook. Matt spent the last 8 years living with Brandon and Rachel Eastman, helping watch and love on their five children.

He was preceded in death by his father, Duane Root; and all of his grandparents.
