Beloved mother passed away on Monday, June 2, 2025, at Hoyt Nursing and Rehab Center, with her family at her side. Age 103 years.

The daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Urich) Karst, Mary was born on July 13, 1921, in Unionville, Michigan. She married Lester Michael Schultz, on September 6, 1952. They spent many wonderful years together. He preceded her in death on March 16, 2002. Mary was a devoted member of St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Court and Bond Streets. She was a valued member of the Women Serving Christ. Mary was an avid Tigers fan. She enjoyed cooking and had a passion for gardening, finding solace in tending to her flowers.

Surviving are her daughter, Carol Schultz; many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Besides her husband, and her parents; Mary was preceded in death by her brothers, Herny Karst, Emanuel Karst, Godfred Karst, Jacob Karst; sisters, Molly Lichtenwald, Anna Ruppel, Clara Hedrich, Lydia Eurich, and Edna Karst.

Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 6, 2025, at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 1020 Court St, Saginaw, MI 48602. Rev. Paul Naumann will officiate with burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit the family from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd, Saginaw, MI 48603, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the church. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church, or The American Macular Degeneration Foundation.
