Mary Celia Miller

Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away on Friday, December 9, 2022, at her home, with her family at her side; at the age of 102 years.

The daughter of the late William Aaron and Hazel Marie (Bolester) Wesson, Mary was born on March 20, 1920, in Saginaw, Michigan. She graduated from Saginaw High School with the class of 1938. Mary married John Henry Miller on September 20, 1946; he preceded her in death on April 15, 1980. She was a member all her life at First Christian Church.  Mary would often participate with many of the activities, luncheons, dinners and events at church. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, gardening, traveling, and playing cards. Mary knitted many blankets for Warm Up America, previously sponsored by Joann Fabrics. She was an essential part of family get-togethers. Mary will be fondly remembered for being humble, patient, and supportive at home raising her family. Above all, Mary cherished the time spent with her family and loved ones.

Surviving are two sons, one daughter and their spouses: Dave and Linda Miller; Rich and Lindi Miller, Sue and Joe Smith; five grandchildren: Kristen (Bob) Gray, Matt (Sarah) Miller, Carrie (Shane) Gauthier, Katie (Adam) Revell, Kevin (Liberty) Smith; ten great-grandchildren: Jozlyn, Jayce, Jake Gauthier, Emily and Chloe Gray, Dylan and Andrew Miller, Oliver and Owen Revell, Sterling Smith; her brother: Guy Wesson. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her sister: Rose Marie Strait; and her brother: Robert Wesson.

Funeral service will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, December 16, 2022, at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road, Saginaw, Michigan 48609. Rev. Jean O’Brien will officiate. Entombment will take place at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit the family from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2022, and from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the funeral chapel.
