Mary Ellen Russell Thomas Twp, Michigan Passed away Monday, April 22, 2013 at the Cartwright Care Center. Age 80 years. The daughter of the late M. Bernadette (Gilbride) and Dennis Gerald Bray was born October 29, 1932 in Saginaw, Michigan. She was employed by Michigan Bell Telephone, retiring in 1995 with many years of service. After retirement she worked as a hostess for Applebee's on State Street for several years. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, enjoyed traveling, gardening and was a Master Gardener. Surviving are three sons and their wives, Gerald and Heidi Russell, Saginaw, MI; Andrew and Amy Russell, Williamston, MI; Erin and Barbara Russell, Brownstown, MI; four grandchildren, Shannon, Kyle, Sarah and Sean Russell; a sister, Judy McCaffery, Las Vegas, NV; a brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Carol Bray, James Township; one niece, three nephews, Debbie Buckstiegel; Daniel Bray; Alex and Nick Buckstiegel. Her husband, Roger Russell has predeceased her. The funeral liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2013, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Rd. Saginaw. Rev. David Parsch will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday where a Vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friends may then call at the Church from 9:00 a.m. Friday until the time of the funeral liturgy.
