Martha “Marti” Ann Sageman, peacefully passed away on November 15th, 2023. Marti a was born on June 28, 1941, in Bay City, Michigan, the daughter of the late Chester Pawlaczyk and Helen Wilk Pawlaczyk.

She was a cherished member of her community and touched the lives of many as a parent volunteer, school board member, and substitute teacher for Bridgeport Public Schools. Marti's commitment to education was unparalleled. Throughout her career, she displayed unwavering dedication and passion for shaping young minds. Her nurturing nature and kind-hearted approach allowed her to connect easily with students. She became best known for her many hugs and ensuring that every child felt seen, heard, and supported. Along with education, she also had a passion for cooking and baking for others.  Everyone loved Marti’s cut out cookies! She will forever be remembered as an exceptional individual whose impact on the lives of others will endure for generations to come.

Marti is survived by her loving husband Russell Sageman. They were united in marriage on February 14, 1961. In addition to her husband Russell, Marti is survived by their children, Andrew (Khanh-Hoa) Sageman, Marsha (Robert) Brewer, Denise Sageman, and Charles (Sarah) Sageman; five grandchildren, A.J. Sageman, C.J. Sageman, Breahna Brewer, Wyatt Brewer, and Chloe Sageman; her brother, Donald Pawlaczyk; many nieces and nephews; and extended family from Russell’s side. Marti was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Helen Pawlaczyk; and her brother, Tom Pawlaczyk.

Friends may visit with the family from 2-4 & 6-8 on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at W.L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 5700 Dixie Hwy, Saginaw, MI 48601, where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at St. Francis de Sales Parish, 3945 Williamson Rd, Saginaw, MI 48601, with Deacon Gary Patelski presiding.
