Marlene "Micky" M. Mueller

Psalm 118:24 (RSV) This is the day which the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad it in.

Micky passed away Wednesday May 21, 2025, at the age of 93 years.

The daughter of the late Whilma (Doerzmann) and Alfred Schmid was born December 4, 1931, in Blairstown, Iowa. She attended Concordia College in St. Paul Minnesota and received her teaching degree from Concordia College in Seward, Nebraska. She married Gilbert Mueller, July 5, 1958. Her husband of 59 years passed away August 17, 2017. Marlene loved children and taught in several schools including the Sebewaing Public Schools and finished her career at Immanuel Lutheran School. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Freeland. She loved to read and made many plastic canvas pen holders to give away. People will also remember her for her collection of Snoopy and Charlie Brown characters.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Heidi and Paul Stecker, Hemlock, MI; a daughter-in-law, Angela Mueller, North Carolina; two granddaughters and their husbands, Rachel and Joshua Tousignant, Auburn, MI; Megan and Mark Callaghan, Durham, England; two step-granddaughters, Carrie and James Cunningham, Livonia, MI; Amy and Ned Timmerman, Howell, MI; two great grandsons, Benjamin and Oliver Tousignant; 7 step-great grandchildren: Leah and Justin Cummingham, Tyler, Madalynn; Christian, Adriana, and Jacob Timmerman; two brothers-in-law, Keith McDaniel and Gordon Mueller; several nieces and nephews. A son, Thomas Mueller a brother, Richard Schmid, and a sister, Carol McDaniel have predeceased her.

The family would like to thank the Roosevelt House staff and The Care Team Hospice staff for the loving care they gave Micky.

The funeral service will take place Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 12:00 Noon at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 6185 Hospital Rd. Freeland, MI. Private burial will take place in Floral Gardens Cemetery, Bay City. Friends may visit with family from 10:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of the funeral service.
