Marian Elizabeth Hughes

Saginaw, Michigan

     Passed away Friday, November 25, 2022, at Covenant Cooper.  Age 86 years.

     The daughter of the late Marie (Pretzer) and Bernard Murphy was born December 10, 1935, in Saginaw County, Michigan.  She graduated from Sts. Peter and Paul High School. She married Richard A. Hughes Sr, November 26, 1955. He passed away, September 29, 1986.  Marian was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, its Altar Society and helped with the funeral luncheons. She enjoyed going to the Casino but most of all loved spending time with her family.

     Surviving are five children, Elizabeth Ann Hart; Kathryn Mary Hughes; Douglas (Anné ) Hughes; Kelly S. Hughes; Mark D. (Jennifer) Hughes; seven grandchildren,

Jennifer M. Hart; Melissa Jo (Nick) Horn; Emily E. Hughes; Riley D. Hughes; Jeremy (Cassidy) Skriba; Brandon (Stephanie) Hughes; Justin Hughes (Abby Tomke); five great grandchildren, Alexa Hart; Stetson Skriba; Jameson Skriba; Ada Caroline Hughes; Jackson Horn; two great great grandchildren, Charlotte Hart; Jasper Murphy; a sister and a brother, Marge Loiacano and Pat (Charlene) Murphy; several nieces and nephews.  A son, Richard A. Hughes Jr., a brother, a sister and two brothers-in-law, John and Muriel Murphy; Kathleen and Norbert Gillis; Sam Loiacano, have predeceased her.

    The funeral liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Rd.  Rev. Peter Gaspeny will officiate with burial in St. Andrews Cemetery. Friends may visit with family at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Monday where a prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m.  Friends may also visit at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
