Maria "Mary" Ann San Miguel Curtin of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Hoyt Nursing and Rehab Center. She was 76 years old. Maria Ann San Miguel was born on March 12, 1947, in Alma, Michigan, the fifth child of 14 children, born to the late Hijinio and Louisa (Estrada) San Miguel. She was a graduate of Arthur Hill High School. A proponent of education, Mary attended Delta College throughout her life, receiving an Associate's Degree in criminal justice, as well as certificates in welding and phlebotomy. The role of her lifetime, one she treasured and cherished above all others, was to be a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Mary married Michael Frank Curtin on November 8, 1989; he preceded her in death on July 9, 2003. She enjoyed crafting and making grave blankets for her family members. Mary also enjoyed cooking and was an exceptional baker. Her little piece of heaven was spending time outside gardening. Mary held a special place in her heart for animals, especially her beloved 25-year-old chihuahua, Chewy. Though she could be stubborn and feisty, Mary was fearless in the face of adversity, the master of her fate and the captain of her soul, and a loving, loyal, and kind mother and grandmother always protective of her family.
