Maria "Olivia" Diaz Sagianw, Michigan Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away Sunday, June 2, 2019 at Brookdale Assisted Living with her family at her side. At the age 84 years. Maria was born April 20, 1935 in Sabinal, Texas, the daughter of the late Pedro and Josefina (Medina) Mejia. She married Roman Diaz in 1963; he preceded her in death on January 2, 2013. One of her favorite foods were french fries. She loved going to bingo, listening and singing Mexican music, cooking Mexican food, gardening and attending to her flowers. She was a kind, warm hearted person, and was always welcoming. Above all, she loved spending time caring for her family. Surviving are her children, Juan M. (Stacey) Diaz, Adam M. (Nina) Diaz, Roman M. Diaz Jr. all of Saginaw; grandchildren, Alyssa Nicole Goslin, SaLynda Veronica Diaz, Adam Diaz Jr., Rosa Maria Diaz, Fernando Diaz, Mariah Herrera; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Paula Garcia and Jesusa Silva. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Preceding Maria in death besides her husband of 50 years, Roman Diaz; and parents Pedro and Josefina (Medina) Mejia; three sisters, Refugia Ramirez, Martina M. Mejia, Josefa M. Mejia; three brothers, Santiago Mejia Sr., Guadalupe Mejia, Francisco Mejia Sr. A funeral service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2019 at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Fr. Joseph Schabel will officiate. Friends are welcome to visit with the family on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service. A committal service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 7, 2019 at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Alzheimers Association.
