Maria Irma Lopez

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother passed away Monday, August 3, 2020 at her home. Age 86 years. Maria Irma Lopez (Ramirez) was born on July 24, 1934 in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. She was raised in Sayula, Jalisco, Mexico. Maria married Heraclio Ornelas Lopez on September 19, 1957 in Sayula, Jalisco Mexico. He preceded her in death on May 13, 2006. They spent 48 wonderful years together.

Maria was a stay at home mother but spent her summers preparing lunch for the children at church. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. When she wasn’t watching WWE wrestling, Mexican channels or Family Feud on television you could find her gardening and working in her yard. She loved flowers, her birds, knitting, cooking, playing bingo, going to the casino and eating crab legs.

Maria is survived by her children; Ali (Cathy) Lopez, Flavio “Sapo” (Veronica) Lopez, Andrea “Reyna” Lopez, Genoveva “Heno” (Jose) Mojica, Heraclio “Rocky” Lopez; 11 grandchildren; Antonio, Vincent, Ramon, Ana, Michealangelo, Jose “Pucu”, Juan Carlos “Guero”, Joaquin “Caqui”, Angelmarie, Lauren and Tyler; 21 great grandchildren. Maria also leaves behind her brothers and sisters in Mexico.

A funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church (915 N. 6th street, Saginaw). Rev. Fr. Francis Voris OFM Cap will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday August 5, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at W.L. Case and Company (4480 Mackinaw Road) and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at Church. The Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday at W.L. Case and Company, Deacon Librado Gayton will officiate. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the family.
