Our loving Mother, Aunt, Tia, Tita, Nana and friend passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 11, 2025, surrounded by family and loved ones.

Maria was born on August 6, 1957, daughter of the late Delfino Mungarro Valenzuela and Francisca Vergara de Valenzuela, in Hermosillo, Mexico. After completing high school in Mexico, Maria married and moved to Saginaw, Michigan. She attended classes to earn her citizenship and worked as a primary caregiver while also raising her family.

Maria is survived by her son, Delfino (Jackie) Gonzalez; daughters, Rebecca Goombi and Rachel Gonzalez; granddaughters, Eleonor Goombi, Petra Gonzalez and Evangeline Rachel Goombi; siblings, Lourdes (Filiberto) Durazo, Genoveva (Javier) Delfin, Delfino (Darcie) Valenzuela, and Maria Eugenia Cervantes; nieces and nephews, Brenda, Brisa and Christina Durazo, Ruben, Ray and Rosa Perez Valenzuela, Antonio and Angela Valenzuela, Ruben, Moises, Ruth, and Erika Delfin, Abraham Valenzuela, Francisca, Laura, and JoseAntonio Cervantes; also many extended family members of Martin and Eleonor Gonzalez. Maria was predeceased by her siblings, Ester, Laura and Abraham Valenzuela Vergara and brother-in-law, Jose Antonio Cervantes.

A Celebration of Life will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 16, 2025, at Sheridan Road Baptist Church, 6911 Sheridan Road, Saginaw, MI 48601. Pastor Lou Jurva Will officiate. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
