Margaret Ann Taylor

Margaret A. Taylor of Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister passed away on Monday, January 8, 2024, one week shy of her 91st birthday. Margaret A. Kanthak was born on January 15, 1933, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late August S. and Sophia J. (Bodwin) Kanthak. She was a proud graduate of Holy Rosary High School. She married the love of her life, Harold Z. Taylor on June 28, 1952, in Saginaw, celebrating 56 years of marriage; he preceded her in death on July 12, 2008. Margaret was employed as a "secretary and receptionist" with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company but fulfilled many roles throughout her 35 years of loyal and dedicated service. The role of her lifetime, one she truly treasured and cherished was to be a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. Margaret was a longtime and faithful member of Christ the Good Shepherd Parish - St. Helen Catholic Church, and actively volunteered to bring communion to local nursing homes residents. Throughout her life, Margaret supported countless charities, selflessly helping others in need. She was an animal lover, and her dogs made her heart feel full. Some would even joke she loved her dogs more than she loved her three sons, especially her golden retriever, Molly Malone.

Surviving are three sons and their spouses: Harold "Bill" (Mary Lou) Taylor of Bridgeport, Joseph A. (Sherry) Taylor of Saginaw, and John A. Taylor of Saginaw; seven grandchildren: Amanda Taylor, Joseph Taylor Jr., Hank Taylor, Allie (Eric) Sikorski, Tate Taylor, Lyssa Darabos, Kevin (Megan) Darabos; six great-grandchildren: Delaney Jo and Margaret Sophia Taylor, Tatumn Rose-Marie and Salem Sage-Marie Sikorski, Belle Andrews, and Gabriel Brown; a brother, William Kanthak of SC; a special friend, Margaret Sienko. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Z. Taylor; daughter, Catherine Taylor; parents, August S. and Sophia J. Kanthak.
