Obituary

Margaret “Peggy” L. Schambeck of Saginaw, Michigan

With deep love and sadness, we announce the passing of Margaret L. Schambeck (Peggy) who left us on the 10th of April, 2026 at the age of 79, surrounded by family. She was born on the 10th of November, 1946 in Tampa, Florida to her mother Lula M. Hale. She moved to Michigan as a child and has lived in this state since. During her time on this earth, she was known for astounding kindness to anyone she interacted with and always having such a deep care for animals so much so she would take them in or help them anyway she could. Most of all, Peggy had so much love for her family and cherished each and every one of them. She touched the lives of so many and will be dearly missed.

Peggy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Karl H. Schambeck, who remained an important part of her life and memory. She is further preceded by her mother, Lula M. Hale; father, Jay Hale; two sisters, Darlene Wilson and Marilyn Hale; and a special friend, Roy Hills D.O.

She is survived by her three children, Kristie Miner (Ron Miner), Michelle Schambeck (Troy Haslinger), and Eric Schambeck (Kiarra Schambeck); five granddaughters and one grandson, Vanessa Bosselaar (Logan Bosselaar), Alexis Keysor (Dylan Keysor), Paige Birchmeier, Erica Schambeck, Sydney Birchmeier, and Kayden Snipes; and four cherished great-grandsons, Wyatt Keysor, Leonardo Bosselaar, Oliver Bosselaar, and Eli Keysor. She is further survived by her sister, Rosemary Lehner, along with a long list of nieces and nephews.

May we find comfort in the promise of eternal life through Christ, trusting that our Peggy now rests in God’s presence, with no pain or sorrow. Though we grieve and miss her already, hold fast to your faith knowing that this death is not the end for her but the beginning of everlasting peace. Until we are reunited again, may God’s love surround us, strengthen us, and bring us His peace.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Divine Living Center in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, The Care Team Hospice, and Tyler Stalter RN, who all showed her love and care during her end-of-life journey.

A funeral liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at St. Dominic Parish, St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1310 Malzahan Street, Saginaw, MI 48602. Rev. Fr. Richard John will officiate. Rite of Committal and burial will follow at St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Humane Society of Saginaw County. Please share your thoughts and memories with the family at the church or through www.casefuneralhome.com.

“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.” Psalm 23:1-3
