Lynn Marek Groske

Lynn Marek Groske, of Saginaw, Michigan, age 74, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2025, peacefully in her sleep. She and her twin sister Karen were born January 22, 1951, in Hinsdale, Illinois. Both Lynn and Karen were pre-mature births that made medical history at the time, surviving against odds to become robust individuals. Lynn pursued her degree in Speech Therapy from Kalamazoo College and ultimately finished a Masters in clinical speech therapy. Teaching in the Detroit school system and then at Macomb Infant Preschool Program (MIPP), she helped countless numbers of children communicate with the world. While she suffered a debilitating fall causing life-long back issues and disability, she didn’t let it stop her from traveling (Canada, Illinois, California, and Europe were her favorites), raising Chesapeake Bay retrievers, painting watercolors (and notably her incredible and calligraphy-like handwriting), and playing her baby-grand piano.

She is paying the card game “Hand and Foot” in heaven with her twin Karen Miller, her mother Camille Marek, and her brother-in-law George Miller. She is survived by her sister Sarah Boyd, nieces Jessica Schaefer and Rachael Miller, great nephews Matthew and Joshua, late great niece Abigal, god-daughter Lauren Assi (along with Nin, Alexis, and Luke Assi).

Lynn’s ashes will be interred at Bohemian National Cemetery with the rest of her mother’s family. As a life long Chessie owner and all-round dog lover, she can best be remembered by contributions to your favorite animal charity.

Arrangements entrusted to W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, please share your condolences with the family at www.casefuneralhome.com
