Lucille “Cille” Eleanor Dill of Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Thursday, September 10, 2026. She was 83 years old.

Lucille Eleanor Hahl was born on June 16, 1943, in Bay City, Michigan to the late Eldon A. and Mildred A. (Mayotte) Hahl. She served as a religious sister with the Dominican Sisters of Grand Rapids at Marywood for seven years. Cille was a proud graduate of Aquinas College receiving a Bachelor of Science in elementary education. Upon moving back to Essexville, while attending a dance at the Fordney Hotel, she met the love of her life Kenneth Lee Dill. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on October 25, 1969. Cille was employed as a teacher with Bangor Township School, retiring after 33 years of loyal and dedicated service. The roles she treasured and cherished the most were being a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, her grandchildren made her heart feel full and complete. She was a longtime and faithful member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Freeland. Cille was an excellent baker, enjoyed canning, and spending countless hours tending to her vegetable and flower gardens. She was a gifted and talented seamstress making her own wedding dress and other clothing for her family. Cille also enjoyed knitting and crocheting baby blankets and afghans. She will forever be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother, a natural teacher of anything, kind and compassionate to all, and for selflessly helping anyone in need.

Surviving are three daughters: Sarah Dill, Caroline Dill, and Rebecca (Jeff) Kipfmiller; three grandchildren: Brenna (James Crosetto) Dill, Riley Kipfmiller, and Logan Kipfmiller; two sisters: Mary (Jim) Buda and Nora (Ron) Fraser; a brother, Tom (Gaile) Hahl; a sister-in-law, Ruth Hahl. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, and four special grandcats.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Lee Dill; parents, Eldon and Mildren Hahl; a brother, Michael Hahl; sister, Delma Keelean.

The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation and gratitude to Covenant Hospice at Home for all the love and care they provided to Cille and the family.

A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 300 Johnson Street, Freeland, MI 48623. Rev. Fr. Thomas J. McNamara will officiate. Burial will follow at Dill Family Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Road, Saginaw, MI 48603 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
