Louise Catherine Foye, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend passed away November 8, 2026, at the age of 102.

Louise was born on October 30, 1924, in Hemlock, Michigan, to the late Joseph and Anna Mae (Kalahar)Foye. She was a proud graduate of Hemlock High School. In Hemlock, she met her soulmate, Melvin Wardin. Their friendship grew into a lifelong love, and they were married on December 6, 1941, at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Saginaw, Michigan. Together, they shared a devoted marriage and built a loving family.

During World War II, while Melvin served his country overseas, Louise supported the war effort by working at Saginaw Products Company. Throughout her life, she remained active in her community and was a dedicated member of VFW Post 7302 in Hemlock, Michigan serving as the Auxiliary President from 1952 -1953. Louise also spent several years providing clerical support for area physicians, a role in which she was known for her reliability and care for others.

Above all, Louise was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, whose family was the center of her life. She is survived by her three children: Patricia (Patrick) Dougherty of Midland, Michigan; Susan (Gary) Fleming of Clearwater Beach, Florida; and David Wardin of Fenton, Michigan. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Louise is also survived by her sister, Shirley Cates of Saginaw, Michigan; sisters-in-law Jackie Foye and Judy Foye; her close friend, Esther Basinger; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin; her parents, Joseph and Anna Foye; her brothers, James, Thomas, Harold, Donald, and Duane; her sisters-in-law Mary Jean Foye, Wanda Foy, and Lois Foy; her brother-in-law Donald Cates; and her dear niece, Sandy Schultz of Hope, Michigan. She was also preceded in death by many other cherished friends & family members who remained close to her heart throughout her life.

The family offers sincere thanks to Barbara Wardin and those who walked alongside Louise with kindness, compassion, and devoted support.
