Lori Marie Hemingway of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Close to Home Assisted Living. She was 66 years old. Lori Marie Smith was born on September 11, 1959, in Saginaw, Michigan to the late William Herbert and Janet Lorraine (Kennedy) Smith. As a young girl, she attended Douglas MacArthur High School. In 1990, she received her high school diploma from Omni High School. Lori enjoyed arts and crafts, especially coloring, playing games on her phone, and collecting bath bombs and candles, as well as the collectable rings included inside. She will forever be remembered for her strength and determination, especially being an eight-time cancer survivor. Above all, Lori loved spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving are three children: Theresa Smith of Saginaw; Terell Klein of Saginaw; William “Billy” Harris of Saginaw; five grandchildren; two brothers: Joseph (Cindy) Smith of Saginaw; Anthony Smith of Germany; a former spouse, Ernest Harris. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents William Herbert and Janet Lorraine (Kennedy) Smith; a brother, Raymond Smith.
A funeral service will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2025, at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd., Saginaw, Michigan 48603. Rev. Fr. Steve Gavit will officiate. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral chapel on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service at 1:30 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the American Cancer Society.
