Ruple, Lois Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Monday, September 25, 2017 at New Hope Valley Assisted Living Center at the age of 92 years. Lois Schilpzand was born March 14, 1925 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Johan and Catharina (Schipper) Schilpzand. Lois married Dean E. Ruple on August 17, 1947. He predeceased her on August 20, 1999. Lois worked at F. W. Woolworths in Kalamazoo prior to moving to Saginaw in 1950. While in Saginaw, Lois volunteered as Assistant Treasurer/manager of Team One Credit Union from 1957 to 1967, handling most daily transactions. Lois also volunteered for Covenant Hospital gaining over 8,000 volunteer hours by knitting baby hats for newborns. She also served as an Election Clerk for Saginaw Township. She was a member of State Street United Methodist Church. Lois is survived by four sons and two daughters: Daniel (Char) Ruple of Florida, Diana Godfrey of Texas, John (Lori) Ruple of Saginaw, Gary (Jill) Ruple of Florida, Larry (Linda) Ruple of Saginaw, Betty (John) Mayer of Saginaw; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Henrietta Schilpzand. She was predeceased by five siblings and a son-in-law, Greg Godfrey. Funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 28, 2017 at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Pastor Monique French will officiate with burial in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. and then on Thursday from 12 noon until time of service. The family wishes to thank the staff of New Hope Assisted Living for the wonderful treatment she received while living there and also A & D Hospice Care for the care in the final few days of her life.
