Linda Marie Laufer of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, May 16, 2025, at MyMichigan Saginaw. She was 78 years old. Linda Marie Fogelsonger was born on April 12, 1947, in Bay City, Michigan, to the late Russell Raymond and Muriel Elizabeth (Taylor) Fogelsonger. She was a proud 1965 graduate of Bay City Central High School. Linda furthered her education by attending Saginaw School for Practical Nursing, graduating in 1970, taking her state board exam and obtained her license as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Linda was a proud member of AL-ANON, which is where she met the love of her life, Donald “Don” Benjamin Laufer. They began dating, fell in love, and were united in marriage on September 10, 1993, in Saginaw, Michigan; he survives her. Linda worked for Hoyt Nursing & Rehab Center, a school, Dr. Chicky’s office, A&D Health Care, and ran daycare at her home. The role of her lifetime, one she considered the most rewarding and fulfilling, was to be a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She treasured and cherished being a grandmother, praising all their successes and attending all their sporting and school events. An angel in disguise, Linda had a selfless soul, often putting other people’s needs ahead of her own. Whether it was raising children or caring of other people’s children, she loved them all and it made her heart feel happy and full. Simply put, Linda had a heart of gold. She had the innate ability to make everyone feel special and seen. Sincerely thoughtful and kind, Linda would often take time to send personalized cards, letters, and gifts to all those she loved. She will forever be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor and beautiful laugh, for being a lifelong caretaker to anyone in need, and for truly living an amazing life filled with many beautiful memories and stories.
Surviving are her husband of nearly 32 years, Don B. Laufer of Saginaw; four sons: Mike (Jody) Brozewski of Saginaw; Dan (Heidi Boaz) Brozewski of San Ramon, CA; Jeremy (Staci) Boyke of Frankenmuth; Dan Laufer and his girlfriend, Brooke Sigman of Saginaw; nine grandchildren: four great-grandchildren; a special friend, Sue Soriteu of Bay City. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends too numerous to list, but held closely to her heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Muriel Fogelsonger; a sister, Diane Halligan.
