Linda Dee LaFontaine

Linda Dee LaFontaine of Freeland, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on Friday, September 29, 2023, at Covenant HealthCare - Cooper. She was 62 years old. Linda Dee Turek was born on April 4, 1961, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Gary and Deanne (French) Turek. She was a proud 1979 graduate of Arthur Hill High School. Following graduation, Linda briefly attended Delta College taking classes to become a registered nurse, while simultaneously raising five beautiful children. As a young girl, she worked at various restaurants as a waitress and server. She then took on the role of her lifetime, one she treasured and cherished to infinity, to be a loving and devoted mother. Linda was also employed within the dietary department at St. Francis Home and later with Duro-Last Roofing where she dedicated many years of service as an embroiderer and silk screen printer. Through her sister, she met the love of her life, Frank James LaFontaine. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on April 21, 2006; he preceded her in death on April 6, 2014. Linda was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church. Her little piece of heaven was being in one with nature. Whether it was tending to her flowers, watching birds, fishing, camping, or spending time up state, Linda found peace and tranquility sharing these loves with her family. She enjoyed pressing her luck by going to the casino, as well as playing the lottery. A music and television connoisseur, she enjoyed listening to a wide range of artists, as well as watching her favorite television programs - not to be disturbed after 8:00 p.m. Anyone that knew Linda, knew her love for family and her grandchildren superseded everything else in life. She will forever be remembered as a loving, caring, and selfless spirit, for sharing all the good things going on in others' lives, for her innate ability to communicate deeply with her children, always without judgment, and for truly living an amazing life filled with many beautiful memories and stories.

Surviving are five children: Steven Napora III of Freeland; David Napora of Saginaw; Nina Napora and her finance, Timothy Hill of Midland; Michael Napora of Bourbonnais, IL, and Tara (James Jr.) Garrett of Greencastle, IN; 11 grandchildren: Christopher Foley, Brianna (David) Bardin, Starr Chobod Napora, Damian Harrington, Destiny Napora, Timothy Hill Jr., Jacob Hill, Riley Hill, Connor Napora, Landon Napora, Rosalyn Garrett; one great-grandson with a great-granddaughter on the way; mother, Deanne Turek of Saginaw; three step-children: Frank (Rebecca) LaFontaine, John LaFontaine, and Terri LaFontaine; five step-grandchildren: Lindsay, Lexi, Breanna, Ashlie and Hallie; three sisters and a brother: Deborah Taylor, Taffy (Pete) Light, Valerie Turek, and Gary Turek Jr.; a special niece, Dakota.
