Obituary

Linda S. Elliott of Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved wife and mother passed away quietly at her home on Saturday, January 10, 2026. She was 75 years old. Linda S. Watson was born on April 4, 1950, in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Melvin G. Watson and Sophie Smela. She was a proud 1968 graduate of Saginaw High School. Following graduation, she began working as a bus driver with Saginaw Township Community School for approximately five years. While out with friends, she met the love of her life, Michael Elliott, while in Houghton Lake. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on August 14, 1971, at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church; he survives her. Linda then began working as a sales associate at Bauer’s Jewelry for 15 years. The role of her lifetime, one she treasured and cherished above all others, was to be a loving and devoted wife and mother. Linda was a longtime and faithful member of St. Helen Catholic Church. She enjoyed watching her favorite news programs, as well as QVC. She will forever be remembered for her genuine straightforwardness, wonderful sense of humor, and for truly living an amazing life with many beautiful memories and stories.

Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Michael Elliott of Saginaw; and a son, Jonathan Michael Elliott of Scottsdale, AZ; a half-brother, Joseph Machul Jr. of Saginaw.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sophie (Joseph) Machul and Melvin G. Watson; a half-sister, Christine Schneikart.

Honoring Linda’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A gathering will take place at a later date in the spring. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Christ the Good Shepherd Parish - St. Helen Catholic Church or Saginaw Community Foundation to the Michael and Linda Elliott Fund.
