Linda Elizabeth Schade of Midland, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully with her son by her side on Thursday, December 2, 2021, at MidMichigan Medical Center - Midland. She was 72 years old. Linda Elizabeth Elsner was born on July 13, 1949, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Herbert and Genevieve (Metevia) Elsner. She was a proud graduate of Hemlock High School. Following graduation, Linda married the love of her life, Robert E. Schade Jr. on October 10, 1969, in Freeland; he preceded her in death on October 13, 2003. She later met David Czerney, her best friend and companion; he preceded her in death on November 22, 2021. Linda enjoyed shopping and collecting various antiques and coins. Above all, she loved tending to her flower, vegetable, and fairy gardens. Linda will forever be remembered for selflessness, her kind yet adventurous spirt, and for all the love she had for her family and friends.

Surviving are a son, Kurt Ahren (Cara) Schade of Saginaw; four grandchildren: Lydia and Ian Schade of Saginaw; Colleen Schade of MI; Gavin Schade of PA; two sisters, Susan Bailey of Saginaw; Ilene Frost of Hemlock. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Schade Jr; son, Erich Schade; a sister, Phyllis (Charles) Richardson; Robert (Wanda) Berger; two brothers-in-law, Richard Bailey and Vern Frost; and a nephew, Troy Richardson.

A funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road. Rev. Fr. Kevin Wojciechowski will officiate. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Mustard Seed or East Side Soup Kitchen.
