Linda L. Buggia of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend passed peacefully at her home with her daughters by her side. She was 77 years old. Linda Leslie Groening was born on April 25, 1948, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Robert and Beverly (Talcott) Groening. She was a graduate of Arthur Hill High School. Following graduation, she began working for the family business, Neuchterlein Jewelry and later also worked for Buggia’s Wallpaper and Paint. Through family friends, she met the love of her life, Leo Samuel Buggia. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on November 7, 1970; he preceded her in death on August 1, 2018. The role of her lifetime, one Linda treasured and cherished above all others, was to be a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Family truly made her heart feel full and she loved each and everyone dearly. She was raised within the Lutheran Faith. Linda was a longtime member of U.C.T. (United Commercial Travelers) holding several leadership positions within the organization and volunteered with their Bingo at the K of C Hall on Williamson Road. Her talent for making clothing brought warmth and joy to her family, especially her children, who grew up wrapped in garments stitched with love and care. A pearl expert, she obtained a certificate from Gemological Institute of America and also enjoyed tending to her flower garden. Whether sewing dresses for her daughters or painting beautiful scenes, she found joy in creating. Linda also loved all animals, especially her dog, Annie, and cats, Hattie and Elsie. She will forever be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, spending time with her children and grandchildren, and for truly living an amazing life filled with many beautiful memories and stories.
Surviving are three daughters: Chandra (James) Mullineaux; Larisa Buggia and her fiancé, Ryan Kodrick; Alexis (Dave) Franz; six grandchildren: Jeremy (Emily) Nachtman; Tristen (Kayla) Nachtman; David (Hallie) Franz, Jr.; Samuel Mullineaux; Zachary Mullineaux; Dylan Kodrick; a great-grandson, William Nachtman; two sisters: Sally (David) Hovis; Nancy Martin; two brothers: Richard Groening; Todd (Laura) Groening. Also surviving are countless nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Buggia; parents Robert and Beverly Groening; and her beloved standard poodle, Beau.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the family for all the love and care they provided to Linda as well as the family.
