Lillian Marie Theisen, age 90, of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on June 20, 2026. She was born on October 16, 1935, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late John Kukowski and Francis (Warner) Kukowski.
Lillian graduated from St. Anthony High School in Detroit in 1953. She was united in marriage with her beloved husband William Edwin Theisen on May 7, 1955. They enjoyed 71 years of marriage and raised a loving family together. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. She devoted her career to the Saginaw school system, working as Executive Assistant to the Superintendent of Schools. She belonged to the Saginaw Culture Club and was the co-founder of the Shields Lioness Club. Lillian and Bill enjoyed traveling the world. They had their own boat and visited all of the Great Lakes. Their favorite destination was Maui, Hawaii, which held a special place in their hearts.
Lillian is survived by her children Greg (Renee) Theisen, Julie (Tony) Cafuk, Tim (Michelle) Theisen, Tom Theisen, and her son-in-law Dan Love; ten grandchildren John (Kayla) Wirtz, Amy (Dave) Van Akin, Michael (Misty) Love, Christopher Theisen, Joe Love, Jennifer (Dustin) Lemaire, Jake Theisen, Laura (Chad) Love, Shannon (David) Gallagher, and Josh (Tara) Theisen; twelve great-grandchildren; one sister Joan Burcar; one sister-in-law Nancy Hill; and many nieces and nephews.
Lillian was preceded in death by her daughter Catherine Love; and one brother-in-law Jim Theisen.
Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 201 N Miller Rd, Saginaw, MI 48609, where a prayer service will take place at 4:30 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 29, 2026, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N River Rd, Saginaw, MI 48609, where friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service. Private interment will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery.
