Passed away on June 2, 2020 at the age of 94 years.
A lifelong resident of Saginaw was born on March 12, 1926 to the late Louis E. and Laura (Reynolds) George. She married John V. Garrett on March 5, 1942; he predeceased her on May 30, 1998. Lillian was a self-taught seamstress, enjoying quilting, needlework, cooking and reading.
Surviving are her son, John W. (Jan) Garrett of Cheboygan, MI; and son-in-law Don Murphy of Midland, MI; six grandchildren: Darren (Rebecca) Murphy of Washington; Douglas Murphy of North Carolina; Dawn Stovall of Ypsilanti, MI; Denton Murphy; Derrick Murphy both of Midland, MI; Doreen Murphy of Ann Arbor, MI; eight great-grandchildren. Besides her husband and parents, Lillian was predeceased by her daughter Carol Murphy on January 3, 2014; five brothers: Robert, Vern, Louis, William, and Theodore George, three sisters: Laura Dietzel-Harris, Bertha Waters, and Mary Daskovitz.
In accordance with Mrs. Garrett’s wishes cremation has taken place and private family services will be held at a later date. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Heartland Hospice or your charity of choice.
