Leonard E. Popour of Owosso, Michigan
Beloved brother, uncle, great-uncle, and friend passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at Owosso Memorial Healthcare at the age of 65. Leonard is the son of the late George and Harriet (Garrison) Popour. He was born on January 18, 1961, in Manistique, Michigan. Leonard resided at DS Heavenly Haven in Owosso, Michigan, where he enjoyed activities with his friends. He loved his job of 23 years at the Junction of Hope Restaurant and his boss, Mike. Leonard also worked at Frank’s Supermarket in Chesaning. He enjoyed fishing in the U.P. with his family. Leonard also enjoyed scratching off lottery tickets and having an occasional cold beer with his dad and buddy, Larry. He loved Christmas and especially his birthday.
Leonard will be truly missed by his sister and best friend, Debbie Clark; big brother, Keith (Jeanine) Popour; sister, Ruthann Popour; nieces and nephews: Jason (Megan Helpap) Popour, Jodi (Kurt) Horvat, Brian (Tina) Polzin, and Angela Polzin, as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Harriet Popour, and best buddy, Larry Clark.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Sherri Semans, who has the gift of working with mentally challenged people and has a heart of gold. Additionally, the family would like to thank the staff of Heavenly Haven for the love and care they provided to Leonard. Also, a special thank you to Mike Jungerheld of the Junction of Hope for his friendship and kindness.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 201 N. Miller Rd., Saginaw, MI, 48609. Pastor Dan Seamans will officiate. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 201 N. Miller Rd., Saginaw, MI 48609 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
