Our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend passed away unexpectedly at her home on May 26, 2026.

Leda was born October 9, 1932, in Maybee, Michigan, to the late Leo and Ruth (Loar) Brandt. She had three siblings, Virginia (Ginny) Eggleton, Robert L. Brandt and Robert Lee (Linda) Brandt. She worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw, Michigan, where she retired after many years of service. She loved being able to help others.

Leda married Harold R. “Bob” Edgar in 1954. They had three beautiful daughters, Lynn Edgar, Laurie Breece, and Catherine Edgar. Harold preceded her in death in 2001.

Leda loved going to trips to the casino and playing “Retirement Party.” She also loved spending time with her family and going on trips. She was an avid reader and loved challenging herself by watching and playing Jeopardy, along with learning her Presidents and Capitols.

Those who knew Leda will remember her warm smile, infectious laughter, strong faith, generosity, sense of humor, strength and wisdom. She touched the lives of many through her kindness, compassion and unwavering love for her family.

Leda leaves behind her daughters, Laurie Breece and Catherine (Joseph Petrylak) Edgar; granddaughters, Katie (Brian) Suchocki, Emily (Jared) Doyen, and Paige (Travis) Rex; three great-grandchildren, Rockne Suchocki, Sorin Suchocki, and Palmer Rex; and her brother, Robert Lee (Linda) Brandt.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Lynn R. Edgar; her son-in-law, JB Breece; her sister, Virginia Eggleton and her brother, Robert L. Brandt.

Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 5, 2026, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N River Rd, Saginaw, MI 48609, where friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service. Rev. Fr. Peter Gaspeny will officiate the service and interment will follow in St. Andrew Cemetery.
